The plant ramped up production of the 2011 Sonata to 10,022 units, including 901 for export to Canada.
It also made 8,419 Santa Fes. That includes 3,000 for export to Canada and 19 for export to Guam.
The plant operated 19 days in January for an average production of slightly more than 970 vehicles per day. The plant expects to increase production to more than 1,000 vehicles per day in February, according to spokesman Robert Burns.
The month's production was up 67.6 percent compared to January 2009.
